Praying for Truth in the Face of Omission

What happened
According to the Jerusalem Post, a recent UN Rapporteur's report has accused Israel of 'femicide' while omitting the Jewish victims of violence. This represents a deeply incomplete narrative in international reporting. When official bodies omit the suffering of specific groups, it distorts the reality of a complex conflict and hinders the path to genuine peace. True justice requires the fair and complete acknowledgment of all suffering.
Why it matters
International reports shape global perspectives and public policy. When the suffering of the Jewish people is omitted from the official record, it fosters misunderstanding and can fuel rising antisemitism. We stand with the Jewish people not out of political partisanship, but from a foundation of ethics, while maintaining that every human life is precious to God. We must reject both antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred, recognizing that omission of truth serves neither. Romans 11:1 reminds us, 'I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means!' God's covenant with Israel remains unbroken. As the Church, grafted in as a wild branch (Romans 11:11, 25-26), we are called to be 'watchmen on the walls.' Our response must be one of faithful intercession, grounded in God's irrevocable promises (Romans 11:29) and a desire for His truth to be brought to light.

I ask then, did God reject his people? May it never be! ... So I ask, did they stumble that they might fall? May it never be! ... For I don't desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you won't be wise in your own conceits, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, and so all Israel will be saved. ... Ways to pray
- Pray that international institutions and reporters would have the courage to acknowledge the suffering of all people, including Jewish victims, ensuring accuracy and impartiality.
- Pray for comfort for all families who mourn the loss of loved ones, asking God to bind up the brokenhearted.
- Pray for intercessors worldwide to remain steadfast in praying for the peace of Jerusalem without growing weary or cynical.
- Pray against the spread of antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred, asking God to replace contempt with His redemptive love in our communities.
A short prayer
Lord, we ask for Your truth to guide the nations. Comfort those who grieve, expose omissions with Your light, and give us the grace to stand as faithful intercessors for Your covenant people and for peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
